Michael J. Anderson (Samson)
stands 3 feet, seven inches tall. He can speak
backwards and is a former computer specialist
for NASA. Due to a bone condition, he was unable
to walk until he was almost 30 years old.
Adrienne Barbeau (Ruthie)
was once married to Horror king John Carpenter
and also worked as a New York city go-go dancer
from 1964-1967 while breaking in on Broadway.
Patrick Bauchau (Ernst
Lodz) was born in Brussels, Belgium and attended
Oxford University on an academic scholarship
where he studied Modern Languages. He speaks
French, English, Spanish, Italian, German and
a bit of Russian and Flemish.
Clancy Brown (Justin
Crowe) is the voice of Mr. Krabs on
Spongebob Squarepants, collects animation cells
an has said that if he hadn't been an actor
he would have been (in order) a fireman, an
aristocrat, an archaeologist/anthropologist,
a scuba diver, and a circus acrobat.
Clea Duvall (Sofie Bojakshiya)
practices tae kwon do, is friends with actress
Rachel Leigh Cook (who, coincidentally, stars
with Nick Stahl in the movie "Bookie")
and worked in a coffee shop before she acted.
Cynthia Ettinger (Rita
Sue Dreifuss) was the original Martha Kent on
the series "Smallville. Before the pilot
aired her scenes were reshot.
John Fleck (Gecko) has
had two other similarly named roles: Mutant
on the Bounty (1989) playing "Lizardo"
and in Pink Cadillac (1989) playing "Lounge
Lizard."
Toby Huss (Felix Dreifuss)
played "Artie: the strongest man in the
world!" on Nickelodeon's cult classic 'The
Adventures of Pete and Pete' and is the voice
of Cotton Hill (and others) on 'King of the
Hill'.
Amy Madigan (Iris Crowe)
is married to actor Ed Harris.
Nick Stahl (Ben Hawkins)
has appered in two movies centering around teenage
murderers based on true stories (Bully and West
Memphis Three). He also starred with fellow
Carnivale cast member John Savage (Scudder)
in the movie "The Thin Red Line".
Karyne Steben (Alexandria)
and Sarah Steben (Caladonia) are twin trapeze
performers with Cirque De Soleil.
Ralph Waite (Norman Balthus)
unsuccessfully ran for Congress twice in California.
Once to fill the unexpired term of the late
Sonny Bono.
Amanda Aday (Dora Mae
Dreifuss) is the daughter of singer Meat Loaf
and was a theatre major at California Instittute
of the Arts.
John Savage (Henry Scudder)
spent 6 years (1988-1994) in South Africa, working
with Nelson Mandela for the anti-Apartheid movement.
